Krone honoured for successful development in Turkey
For the successful development of Fahrzeugwerk Krone and in relation to the Turkish production site, Krone TİCARİ ARAÇLAR SAN.VE TİC.A.Ş (KTA), Krone's Managing Director Riza Akgün accepted a prize from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economics at the Hanover Fair. Economics minister Olaf Lies highlighted the positive development of the Krone Group and focused on the promising performance in recent years of the Group’s production site in Turkey. At the Turkish factory in Tire (near Izmir), Krone has produced trailers for the national Turkish market as well as for neighbouring markets (Turkic states, North Africa, Middle East) since the end of 2012. Since 2015, the production site became 100% owned by Krone. Previously, it had been a joint venture. The total investment in the new manufacturing site was around EUR 35 million. In addition to the Tire site, the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group has manufacturing facilities in Werlte, Herzlake, and Dinklage in Lower Saxony and in Lübtheen (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). Krone is currently active in 50 different countries with 41 distribution companies. The export share of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group is more than 70 percent of total sales.
